

ROSLYN GARDENS was built in circa 1885 by one of Sydney’s most respected businessmen of the day, Robert Newell. He originally named the house built on the prime square acre of his property “Collaroy”. The house was named after the Paddle Steamer, Collaroy, which ran aground at what is now known as Collaroy Beach in 1881, and that the construction of the house contains timbers salvaged from the wreckage.
It was first used as a high class Wedding and Function facility in the late 1940’s by the Frittoles Family, and today is owned and operated by the Sclavos Family who have the same commitment to providing high standards and excellence in hospitality & service.
ROSLYN GARDENS is the perfect venue for a stylish, traditional wedding or any special celebration. It is a beautiful heritage premises circa 1885, and has been a first-class specialist wedding reception & function centre since the 1940’s.
In April 2006 the property was acquired by one of Sydney’s most well known and respected groups in the Bridal & Hospitality Industries. The Sclavos Family bring with them over 25 years of service experience and success. They immediately embarked on a major refurbishment program to restore the property to its former elegance and glory, including total reconstruction of the formal gardens.
The location lends itself to all manner of variations – the beautifully maintained gardens with a “Victorian” water fountain as its centre-piece, is perfect setting for wedding photographs and a popular backdrop for Couples that choose to hold their Marriage Ceremony at ROSLYN as well as being the ideal place to enjoy pre-dinner drinks or just to delight in a romantic moment under the stars.

ROSLYN GARDENS is a historic example of late “Victorian” charm but with modern facilities throughout. Our two function rooms EDEN and MAJESTIC are fully self-contained with separate entrances and facilities (including Bridal Room, Bar, Dining Room and Dance Floor). We can cater for seated guests from 60 – 200. Larger cocktail style functions can also be accommodated.
Providing a smooth-running, enjoyable and memorable experience is the norm at ROSLYN GARDENS. We specialise in good old-fashion service. The décor is classic and depending on your taste, can be ‘dressed up’ using candelabras as table centre-pieces and chair covers with elegant gold or silver sashes. The food is a traditional hearty fare, ensuring all guests enjoy the beautifully prepared dishes – our delicious range of mouth-watering desserts is a specialty.
