PHILLIP SCLAVOS, Managing Director of ROSLYN GARDENS and his management team have a successful track record in the Hospitality Industry with over 25 years experience. 

Phillip is also involved with two other multi-award winning Function Centres in Sydney

In the late 1980’s he established the Colebee Function Centre within Nurragingy Reserve, Blacktown, building it into the regions most highly successful & regarded venues. Up until he sold the business in 2003, Colebee had won every Local Small Business Awards for Best Function Centre since 1994, and had won NSW Champion Function Centre in 1999, 2000 and 2001.

In January 1999, Phillip with a business partner purchased the historic Lauriston House Function Centre at Dundas Valley.  He was very quick to adapt his winning formulae from Colebee. In 2002 and again in 2004 Lauriston won the NSW Champion Function Centre. And to date they have also won the Parramatta Region Business Awards for Best Function Centre every year since 2000, being crowned the “Business of the Year” in 2006. They also won the NSW Bridal Industry Excellence Award.

In 2002 his son as a Director with others revitalised Tudor Lodge Function Centre at Greystanes so that within the group clients would have 3 quality venues that they could choose from within 3 different price ranges but with providing the highest quality.  In 2003 Tudor won the “Australian Achiever Award” for best venue in NSW.

After several approaches from the then proprietors of ROSLYN GARDENS Function Centre, Peakhurst, who were only interested in selling their business (before retiring) to someone they could trust with “their baby”, Phillip finally consented to seriously consider the matter. Immediately he realised the potential of ROSLYN that was being lost. So in April 2006, he purchased the historic property and embarked on a rescue to restore it to it’s former glory. And unbelievably they won not only the NSW/ACT Champion Function Centre Award for 2007, but also went on to win the 2007 NATIONAL Champion Function Centre Award.

Amazingly this means as the MD for Colebee, Lauriston & now ROSLYN GARDENS he has won 6 of the 8 years the State Awards have been running, and of course the inaugural National Awards.

Phillip proudly acknowledges that his vision and achievements could not have been possible without support from his family and senior management team.

Our General Manager, GEORGE SCLAVOS, B.Com - who is also an Event Coordinator with CHRISTINA GEORGESON, have many years hands-on experience in working within the industry and also bring with them relevant tertiary qualifications, ensuring clients receive efficient, professional service.   They are committed to ensuring that clients’ needs are met in every way possible, and in doing so are in the business of making of special memories and special days.  George & Christina are here to help you through all aspects of organising your special day.  They have been able to organize “special discount offers” with other award winning wedding providers to help make things easier for you.

Our Masters of Ceremonies (MC), JOHN ALLEN, JP, MMgt, and ALAN CROW, JP have between them more than 30 years experience in public speaking, function coordination and staff supervision and training.  These skills have been developed from their involvement across many areas in the Community, Private and Government Sectors. Unlike other function centres, our MC’s visit the Bride & Groom in their home prior to the reception so they can meet them and their families in an informal and relaxed atmosphere to discuss the format of their reception. John has been working with Phillip Sclavos in his group, as a MC for more than 10years and he has also been a FINALIST in the NSW Bridal Industry Awards for Excellence for Best Professional Master of Ceremonies every year since 2000.

Our Executive Chef & Catering Staff have just as many years experience in catering for functions.  We have developed an extensive menu with many combinations from which to choose, from the traditional roast to deliciously tempting dishes like Veal Parmagiano. Our mouth-watering desserts are a specialty.  Our menu is detailed seperately.

Our Team of Food & Beverage Staff perform to their high standard under the direction of our F&B Supervisors, MICHAEL RIZK and GEORGE DOXARATORAS. Their combined knowledge and experience in food & beverage service totals more than 40 years. 

As can be seen we believe the success of ROSLYN GARDENS as a business must be attributed to more than just one factor.  It is the combination of many which are underpinned by our hard working, professional, talented and dedicated team, that ensures our continuing growth and success.
